Privacy policy

Applies to the Trappy Flump Android app (package com.eiilo.games.trappyflump) and to this website. Trappy Flump is a small arcade game made by eiilo. It has no accounts, no sign-up and no chat. The game itself does not collect personal information. The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob, and that is where almost everything in this policy comes from.

  • The app stores your best score on your own device and nowhere else.
  • The app shows ads served by Google. Google may use your device's advertising ID, IP address and device details to serve and measure those ads, subject to your consent where the law requires it.
  • If you sign in to Google Play Games inside the app, Google handles your player profile, scores and achievements.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

The app and this website are published by eiilo, the developer named on the Google Play listing. For any question about this policy or your data, write to hi@eiilo.com.

What the app stores itself

Your best score, and possibly a note that you have already been asked for a store review. Both are kept in the app's private storage on your device. They are never sent to us. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Advertising

The app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show a banner on the menu and game-over screens, an occasional full-screen ad between runs, and an optional rewarded video you can choose to watch to continue a run. Ads are never shown during play.

To serve and measure these ads, Google may collect:

  • your device's advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in Android's settings;
  • your IP address and coarse location derived from it;
  • device and app details such as model, operating system version, language, screen size and the app's package name;
  • which ads were shown, viewed or tapped, and whether a rewarded video was completed.

We do not receive this data ourselves. It is processed by Google under Google's privacy policy, and Google explains its ad practices at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before requesting any ad, and honours the choice you make. Personalised ads are only shown if you agree to them. You can revisit and change your choice at any time with the Privacy button on the app's menu screen. If the consent form cannot be loaded, for example without a network connection, the game starts and simply shows no ads until it can.

Anywhere in the world you can limit ad personalisation by resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android's settings under Google, then Ads.

Google Play services

The app may offer Google Play Games features: a leaderboard for best score and achievements for surviving particular headlines. These only work if you choose to sign in to Play Games. When you do, Google processes your Play Games player ID and profile, the scores you submit and the achievements you unlock, under Google's privacy policy. You can manage or delete your Play Games data from your Google account. We never see your name, e-mail address or contacts.

After a new best score the app may ask Google Play to show its in-app review prompt. Anything you write there goes to Google Play, not to us.

Permissions

The app asks for internet access and the ability to check the network state. Both exist only so ads and Play Games can work. It does not ask for your location, camera, microphone, contacts, files or notifications.

What we never do

  • We do not sell data, because we do not hold any.
  • We do not run our own analytics or crash reporting.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.

The site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and includes no analytics or tracking scripts. Two things are worth knowing:

  • The browser version of the game remembers your best score in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, and clearing site data removes it.
  • The pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser sends its request, including your IP address, to Google to fetch them. Google describes what it does with those requests in its Google Fonts privacy FAQ.

Whoever hosts the site may keep ordinary server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and capacity reasons, as any web host does.

Trappy Flump is political satire and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way to. Parents or guardians who believe a child has used the app and have concerns can contact us and we will help.

Data stored by the app lives only on your device and disappears when you uninstall it. Data processed by Google for ads or Play Games is kept according to Google's own retention rules and can be managed through your Google account and Android's advertising settings. We keep nothing to delete.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data about you, to object to its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we do not hold your data, most of these requests are best made to Google through the links above. You can still write to us and we will help you find the right place.

If the app starts collecting anything new, for example if a "remove ads" purchase or crash reporting is added, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top will change before the new version of the app ships.
